Ramen bar!

So today, my family and I went to this great ramen place. I had actually tried this on my last trip to Japan, but because it was so delicious, we decided to try it again. The way the menu works is as follows - there are 8 different kinds of broths, and each broth has the same set of 7 different toppings (ranging from having egg and pork in the ramen to just plain ramen). I had the spiciest ramen with no toppings (although there were still two slices of pork). The last few bites were a struggle, because the broth was a bit oily, but it was delicious nonetheless! I will definitely be coming back.

A bit of the menu. I had the plain Red Jangara - it was delicious!

Apparently this is a menu for all of the extra things you can order. Anyone who can read Kanji/Hiragana/Katagana want to verify this?

What my ramen looked like! The two slices of pork are in the top left of the bowl.

Done! Delicious :)

First day in Japan!

Hello from Japan!

I decided that while on Winter Break, I'll update this blog with funny/cute/cool/awesome pictures that I took while spending time with my family in Japan. And so with that, here is the first round of pictures! Today, my mom and I went to Azabu-juban, a place with lots of cute little stores and restaurants, and so most of the pictures are of the stores/things in the store. Enjoy!

The first stop - A bakery! These are little cones filled with chocolate creme and custard. When I was little, I used to eat the cones filled with chocolate all the time, so when I saw this bakery I just had to step in and buy some :)

The sign says "Please calm down at night as this area is near the residential area"- I thought this was an interesting sign.

There was a place in Azabu-juban, called Frijoles, that's apparently a lot like Chipotle, so I ducked in to buy a burrito bowl. It was delicious!

A little piece of home? The menu  just a subset of the American menu (and more expensive)

Wendy's!

A sushi menu. Must try!

Tuesdays!

It's Tuesday! Happy Tuesday everyone :)

I've been pretty exhausted for the past few days, so I'm chilling now, watching a TV show (Hawaii Five-0 anyone?). This post isn't going to be long - just wanted to direct you wonderful people to a friend's blog - nyclassybitches.blogspot.com!

Mock Trial Tournament - Quaker Classic

So this weekend, my Mock Trial team is at a mock trial tournament - the one at Penn specifically. We've been doing pretty well, but it's frustrating that there are members on my team that seem to care more about gossiping about their personal lives than working to win this tournament.

And it's at moments like these that I miss my team from last year. My directing attorney, my witness, my defense counsel table. There was a closer on my team - he was prosecution closer, and middle attorney on defense. He was amazing. In fact, before I gave my closing earlier today, I thought of him. Thought of all the closings that he had given that I had seen, how he had owned the well and how he had commanded the attention of everyone around him. And I tried to channel that. I remember standing on the balcony over the stairs and thinking of him and his closings. And trying to be that. Trying to be him.

I did get a 10 on one closing :) Next step: double 10s!
